Wondering How To Make Your Morning Rock? Read This!
If you’ve been wondering on how to make your morning rock, it’s time to take a look at your habits to see if you’re doing things that prevent just that. We created this handy checklist to help you quickly assess if you have sleep-stealing habits that make your morning more dread-filled than awesome.
First, take a moment to see how many of these things you’re doing within two hours of bedtime each night:
-
- Eat greasy junk food, or sweets
- Smoking
- Drinking alcohol
- Watching television
- Play computer games
- Working out
- Having a cup of coffee or other caffeinated drink
- Taking a nap
- Eat a big, heavy meal
- Worrying about whether you’ll be able to sleep or not
- Doing work in bed
Now, see how many of these things you do as you’re ready to climb in bed:
-
- Go to bed with cold feet
- Set the alarm on your phone to wake you up
- Checking email one last time
- Let your pet climb in bed with you
- Drink a big glass of water
- Browse your social media accounts quick
- Plug your phone, tablet, and other electronics in on the nightstand by your head
- Go to bed even though your stomach is growling with hunger
- Leave the television on so it provides noise while you sleep
- Make sure the ringer on your phone is turned on
So how many of the things on each list are you guilty of doing? Several? Just a couple? The bad news is that any of them can cause you to have a night of bad sleep. Without a night of quality sleep, it’s virtually impossible for your morning to rock. (That is unless you wake up and find out you won the lottery or something!) The good news is all of these things are easy to fix. It just takes a little consciousness about your habits and the desire to change.
